I carry this bulb.. but you can probably snag one at your local part store. L558 is the short number.

There's a wedge type of thing molded in the console and if you look real close there's a small little hole in the center of this wedge deal. The light bulb fits in a socket right above this hole and it directs the light down onto the AC/Heater controll. I didn't know it was there till I took the dash apart.

thanks Willcox, sent an email for you to get me cost, A normal wedge globe will shine light through if you put your hand up to it but wont beem down on the a/c controls like this special tip globe does!

I bought that bulb from you (Willcox) a few months ago and am just about to get in there and fix a few things.
I assumed that it was in the console proper...under the switch or next to it or whatever. That would be a sensible place to put it, no?
Anyway, I just saw that wedgie thing for the first time myself and the very small hole in it.
It's hard to believe that's the light source.
Anyone have any idea what such a strange arrangement?
Who knows how long I would have looked for a place to stick that bulb?
