Does anyone know if there was a "Motion" Corvette made in 1976. Some locally is selling a 1976 Corvette and claims it is a "Motion" Corvette. I was not aware of Motion performance making a Corvette past 1973, but I could be wrong. The corvette in quesiton has an L-82 350 CI motor which also makes me wonder as I thought all Motion corvettes has big blocks.
Lots of Motion parts were sold after 74, and people with cars containing Motion parts and cosmetics tend to get called "Motion Corvettes" by people trying to sell them.
If they used Motion parts to build the car, it's a Motion Corvette. If it was ordered from the factory to Baldwin Chevrolet and then sent to Motion for upgrades, it's a Baldwin Motion Corvette.
My 1970 BB has the complete Motion Phase III body package, is it not a Motion Corvette?

As VB said,Joel Rosen sold parts to the public so anybody could make their own. I'm not saying yours isn't a true Motion but unless you can document it you won't get Motion money out of it.
I had an L88 hood on mine but it sure wasn't an L88.
The body parts on the Motion cars were readily available through Ecklers and other Corvette parts houses at the time so, while you may have the look of a Motion car, it simply is not the real deal.
Likewise you could buy most, if not all, of the Motion specific performance parts through their catalog sales department. There are a few Corvettes that were built by their owners to resemble a Motion Corvette; these are often referred to as "catalog cars". While desirable, I don't think they are nearly as valuable as an authenticated Motion Corvette.
I am by no means an expert on the subject but, I have been a huge fan of all things Motion and know just enough to get in trouble. Oh and I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.................

I know mine isn't a "true" Motion car and I would never describe it as such, I was only talking about what to call it. Like your L88 hood, you still call it a L88 hood even though your car wasn't an original L88. When someone asks me about the unique body kit on my car, I am not going to say it's a "catalog" body kit, I'm going to say that it's a Motion Phase III body kit.

What is on the car that is reminiscent of the Motion cars? L88 hood, flares, slant back window, recessed headlights? We need pictures; BTW who cares what anyone calls it as long as it makes you happy.
