tranny dipstick leaking

tranny dipstick leaking
have 1980 th350 the dipstick tube is leaking were goes into tranny. Pulled it all the way out and there is an o ring on it. how do i get it to stop leaking? maybe a new o ring? thanks tj

Yup, with no O ring your going to get a leak, put a new o ring on it and make sure the dipstick tube is seated properly and the support bracket for the dipstick tube that bolts to the trans case is tight, and check the trans fluid has not been over filled.....you should be ok then.....
