dual snorkle 79 intake hoses. is there anything better out there besides the cheap "GM" ones being sold today. ive ripped through 4 of them so far and the fastening clips always pull out and i need to replace with my own staple. werent the originals a form of fabric over the wire?
The new ones still sold through GM are a vinyly material and have held up fine for me.
I have them on two of my Vettes, the original fragile papery ones put away for safekeeping.
Bought a set of aftermarket ones a few years ago. Those seem durable but incorrect looking and wrong fasteners. Got those thrown in a box, too.
One that I have put away IS a more durable looking fabric. Came original on my black79, one fabric and the other was the paper type.
Aircraft Spruce or an aircraft supply will have several different types of flex tube. And it's going to be pretty good stuff= in the aircraft world it's known as "SCAT" or "SKEET" tubing, depending on the temp rating. Usual color is red, but IIRC there's black out there too.
