Thanks....also is it a real PITA to hook up the power seats or am I better off using my manual sliding hardware ?
I got my C5 seats from a C5 forum member so I recommend checking there.
The power seat hook up is easy, I ran a red (inline fused) and black wire from the battery through a small drilled hole down the slanted panel behind the seats to the seat wiring. I made my own mounts for the seats and the power drivers side seat sits lower than the manual passenger side. I used studs in the floorpan in place of the stock mounting bolts so the seat drops onto the studs then nuts hold the seat in place.
Sweet....I picked up a bunch of extra "side work" so I've got a bit of money to finish up my interior...
Side question - buy new door panels ($400 each!!) or take mine to an upholsery shop for repair ? the vynal on the arm rests is all shot and they're just plain ratty...
I bought mine at a swap meet for $100. Then sold the tan skins for $50. the motors and tracks for $100. and bought a new set of foam and skins for $700.
I bolted mine direct to the floor, no sliders. I could never imagine needing the seats anywhere but in the furthest back position and I'm under 6' tall by a couple inches. This kept the seat height down.
There are some nice ones that come up on eBay and also in the C5 section every week. You will pay more for Sports Seats than Standard seats. The frames are the same, the difference is in the foam and skins.
There are certain areas that wear on all of them so make sure you know where the tears are.
