I recently ran across a web site which built heads in their machine shop. This shop also sold brand name heads and other products, but the price of their heads was attractive (half price). Aftering inquiring, the shop told me these heads were designed and machined after some of the more famous heads and were well constructed. Since this wouldn't be the first time Ive flushed money, I think Im going to try them on anotyher project Im about ready to start . Te name of the shop is CGM motorsports. The person responded immediately to my questions. Any information to add to this would be greatly appreciated.
The company site is www.cgmmotorsports.co
I was told they buy castings with minimal machining, then build their own heads from there. Their e-mail to me also said the aluminum castings are the same as the ones used by Patriot, Procomp and Strike Force.
We all try to save a buck or two but this is not money well saved. Spend the extra dollars and get a set of good heads. Those you listed are the Chinese castings and they are not very good. I would spend the extra dollars for good heads. Heads are where the HP is made.
