A buddy of mine just bought a '79. Where are the RPO codes located? Or ARE they?

TIA.

not going to find them. I think if you contact the National Corvette Museum they could have a build sheet for it. the closest thing you are going to find the trim tag on the driver side door jam

You'll have to look on the gas tank for the original build sheet which will list all the options the car came with, assuming it is there and legible. GM finally got smart and started posting the options if easier to get to places with the start of the C4 line. And now with the computer age being what it is, the data "should" always be available for the C4-C? lines.

As nowhere man mentioned you can send away for a copy of the sales invoice (not the build sheet). It's the GM Heritage Center not the Corvette Museum. This will have the RPO's.

Once you have the sales invoice you can send away for a replica of the window sticker.

Have your friend go here http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/...x.php?cmd=area and see if he can obtain a copy of the original dealer invoice for his '79. The invoice will list the options the car was equipped with along with prices, dealer info, ship date, etc.

The NCM has records only for Bowling green built cars.
