I would like to install two buttons on my steering wheel. One for my roll-stop (or line-locks) and the other for my second stage of nitrous. Has anyone installed a button on their wheel before? I took the button cap off and horn switch and it looks impossible to pass a couple of wires through the column.
How do I pass the wires through the steering column???
The picture below shows the steering wheel. I will mount the buttons at either the red arrows or the yellow arrows. Not sure yet.
The wiring for the blinkers and horn are on a strip of wires..meaining they are all together and lay flat (maybe 24 gauge). They pass through the housing and column in a narrow pathway. It's gonna be difficult to get another pair of wires to go through the stock location.. I seriously doubt you could get 4 wires in there.
also, they attach to a "cam" that allows movement of the steering wheel...don't see how you can use the stock setup at all.

Easiest thing would probably be to attach a small remote to the wheel and receiver in the dash. Like a cheap keyless remote kit. Disassemble the remote and custom install it in/behind the wheel as hidden as possible, with 28-30 ga. wire running to pushbuttons on outer wheel.
