I know there have been quiet a few mods using the Fiero seats so this won't be new to many of you. But I am half done on my seats. I needed a more comfortable seat (like many of you) plus my seats don't slide up far enough for the wife to comfortably drive (although I have never looked at rails on existing seats). So I will likely use seats with the Fiero rails (vs using old rails off vette seats). Anyways I know most of you guys like to see the photos at least here is my progress. Old Fiero seat on left. New seat re-covered (thanks to MrMike) on right.
I do have two sets of the brackets to attach the original vette rails to these seats if anyone is in need of them (fabrication shop made me two sets). Like I said, not likely to use them so I'll sell them for what I paid to have them made plus shipping.
Looks nice! Did you put the covers on yourself? if so how hard was it? I'm also thinking about putting a set of those in my car. I have a guy that will sell me set of fiero seats in good condition for $ 150 but I didnt know if that was a good price.

Yes I put on the covers. I purchased from MrMike (MrMike.com). He provides a DVD explaining/showing exactly how to do it. Others here have done it as well. He recovers one in about 30 minutes. Took me a good 8 hours. He includes everything you need to do the job. If you want leather (which is what I have) it is pricey (about $800) but he does really nice work (you can also go with cheaper leatherette). Others on the forum have done them and he has a number of examples on his website. He will send you leather samples as well to compare with your car.
$150 is a good price. I got mine for $200 shipped from Texas.
If you decide you want to keep the original C3 rails from your seat (to avoid drilling new holes). You will need brackets which Binnie77 has specified for everyone. I actually have two full sets based on his drawings/specifications. The guy that fabricated them for me gave me an extra set. As it is, I am probably not going to use them after all anyways. So if you need a set of brackets (it would be 4 brackets, two for each seat) let me know. Since he gave me two full sets (8 brackets) it only ran me about $50 a set.
