Yes, however, there is a modification that has to be made so that the 1982 column will fit your instrument cluster.

Very good write up....seems unless a person is die hard purist updating a steering column is a very good idea for many reasons,
In my case I bought a great 82 column from a wrecked CE car to install in my Kit car...and it was gonna need to be spaced from the floor...you guessed it about 2" the extra 2" my 69 column will have, even the big 69 wheel will work well with a VW manual streering gear box,
I will use the cruse control switch for something cool and even use the cornering lamps on that 82 column wiring....
The only part of your link that didnt make it thru to me is the picture of how to cut the 82 to fit the dash....perhaps you could send that to me...The13bats@aol.com
