Default jack stands

I have a 77 vette and was wondering wear to locate the jack stands so as not to damage anything and be safe? looking to be high enough to change out the exhaust system. thanks vince

I generally put mine under the front lower control arms and under the frame in front of the rear wheels just under the rear of the doors.

X2! I first put mine on the frame behind the front wheels and in front of the rear wheels and the car slid on the stands and wobbled all over the place. I was terrified to get underneith it!
Now I just use my hoist!

Use some wood on top of the jack (and jack stands) and it wont dent the frame.
3/4 Inch plywood works great. It might crack and pop at first but it will not crush and it will keep your frame looking Good.
