1980 Rear Bumper question
Hey Guys,
I am posting a pic of the 80 below, my question concerns the rear bumper, as you can see in the pic, the heat and cold of 30yrs of life has made the bumper wavy, and the sides of the bumper have moved towrd the center a bit to where sides of the bumper dont match up flush with rear fenders.
Is there anything I can do to correct this beyond having to buy a new bumper and have it painted, and then fitted to the car???
Thanks,
Mike.

Check out the thread about rear spoiler.
I have to admit I bubba'd one of these bumpers myself and it really took a lot of the large waves out. Still some ripple but not too bad.
Used technique similar to what is describe in the spoiler thread.
C-clamped and glued a thin piece of wood to the inside (about the thickness of wood paneling) against a flat board on the other side.
It was to be used temporarily until I had the bucks for a new bumper but after 4 years it still looks oks and kept it as is.
It was originally as bad as yours in the picture. I got it cheap second hand so I figured why not try.
If the urethane plastic is really dry it may crack so be careful.

Yeah, I saw the other thread, I just might have to give it a try and see what happens.
