Seat install help needed
I soon come to decision point. Use my existing rails or use the Fiero rails. I have the fabricated brackets to use existing c3 rails if needed. But I like the fact (well my wife does) that the Fiero rails move closer to the front of the car.
If I go with Fiero rails, what do I need to do as far as drilling new holes? Do they need to be tapped? Is there anything underneath I have to look out for? I don't have a drill bit to do that so any recommendation and if you know size that would be great.
Also I have a fine assortment of hardware. Couple of machine screws, couple of bolts/nuts combos. Seats have been out before apparently. What hardware is best? Size?
Anything I can get at Home Depot/Lowes/Ace is best as it will be quick.
As always, thanks for any advice.
Rick
There isn't a lot of other possible places to mount in a 69 because of the fiberglass floorboards, yes you can drill and mount using big washers, but if you ever get in an accident you want the seats to stay in place.
However, if you are a good fabricator and can make the other rails mount in the stock holes, then no worries.
Just my 2¢

That's what I did when I installed my OMP Design II seats.
The pic below shows OMP universal sliders welded with custom brackets that keep original hole pattern :
