Show me your flames!
I'm looking to get a wrap made for the front of the '76, with flames on the hood & front fender inserts. I have a place that will do it for me, and I've used them for lots of things before.
All I need is a picture or two to take down there, so they can get some ideas for the drawing. Car is Schnitzel Brown, so I'm looking for red & orange/yellow flames.
here you go. hope it gives you some ideas. we really like the job that was done. unfortunately it was before my time on the car so cant give any details. note one thing, you do not want to feel the flame job on your paint. i think this is done by a final clear cote. maybe gel cote with fiberglass. the reason is your wax will detail the seams and look like crap.

Just what I was lookin' fer!! Thanks and hey - great lookin' ride too!
There are Air Brush flames then there are Old School flames. Quite frankly, I admire anyone that takes the incentive to have a custom paint job applied to their car.
The 73 Vette which is on it's way to my house has flames painted on the hood. Looks like four flames.I'm not sure which type of flames are on the 73 Vette. I can't get a good enuff look at them in any of the pictures I've seen. But one thing for sure, when they 73 arrives the flames will one of the first things about the car I will be curious to see.
ghost flames with a pearl is the only way to go....
Thanks you for your opinion of pearl ghost flames. The guy that painted the ghost flames on my Solstice (Fetish) was leary of adding the airbrushed purple tips. Actually the tips apear different shades of purple/blue depending on the lighting situation.
The Ghost Flames are really much nicer IRL and the painted tips really POP.
Did you view the Ebay listing of the 73 Vette I've purcahsed? If so what type of flames would you call those painted on the hood? I cannot get a good enough view of the flames to decide what they are.
The vette will be delivered to my home Monday or Tuesdday of next week and I am so excited that I haven't slept wel since I bought her.
