Default T Top Pad Replacement Problem

Hello all. I bought a set of the inexpensive plastic T top pads from Ecklers to replace my well worn factory pads. I know they are not OE, but I just wanted a cheap replacement. Here is the problem, the factory pad attaches at 9 points, the replacement only uses the two mounting points in the front, and the two in the rear. Well, upon removing the old pad from the drivers side I found that three of the nine mounting points were broken at some point, naturally it is one of the front ones, and both rear ones. I have the old pad back on for now. Any ideas or am I just screwed?

More info needed here...broken how? Are the actual fiberglass posts on the top that the velcro feet screw into sheared off somehow? How do the liners actually attach to the top, by way of velco pads or are they screwed directly to the posts?

Any pix?

remove the velco rings. If the post they attach to are still intact, i used a dab of exopyweld (JB Weld?) to fill the screw hole and shore up the post. Let it dry overnight then predrilled it to accept the new panel screw.

The posts themselves are broken. Whoever had this car before did some real jackleg rigging of the interior.

I would think the epoxy JB Weld would still be a viable solution for repair.

Thanks, that is what I think I will have to do. The technician at Ecklers said the same thing. Thanks for the help.
