THANKS Mike! That does help. My car seems to be an L-48. My intentions are to put a big block in it since theres nothing special about it. One other thing, my car has the 175 speedo, is that normal? Thought the L-48 didnt have that. Guess someone could have changed it. Thanks again for your help!!

175mph speedo? Aftermarket.
Or do you mean 140?
140mph was standard regardless of which motor went in until late in 79 when they ran out and started using the 85mph units meant for the 80s.
I believe the changeover happened somewhere in the 45xxx VINs.
