Anyone out there know what the number next to "Chevrolet" on the trim tag represents? Saw one for example on ebay that said: "F27". I realize the two numbers below represent the original paint color as well as the material and color of the interior respectively. Confused on the upper number.....THANKS

Its the body build date. F27 is likely January 27th.
'A' is the first month of the production (not calendar) year so 'F' would be the sixth. Depending on what year car, that could be January to June.
27 is the 27th day of the month.

Mike, my NCRS Guide says trim tag body build date month letter F = January in 1968 and 1969.
This date can be cross-referenced/verified by comparing it to your VIN assembly date.
The Vin # ending for a 69 built in Jan., 1969 is 194379S714695. Your Vin # should be very close to this number. You can check your title for the Vin #. As for the motor....you can check the front pad of the block on the passenger side. You will find the last numbers of your Vin plus a suffix code. The suffix code will tell you HP and displacement.
1969 model year production began in August, 1968, the week of the 23rd. August would be A; F should be January, 1969. F27 would be January 27th, 1969.
The time/build code indicates the day of the month the car passed the station on the assembly line where the trim tag was attached. For '69s, the body would have been assembled, painted, added to the assembly line. and partial assembly would have begun before the trim tag was attached to the body.
The car was probably not completed on the date on the tag, and is likely to have required another working day or day and a half to have been finished. January 27th, 1969 was a Monday. I'm guessing the car was completed late Tuesday or first thing Wednesday morning of that week.

Yes, that's true. The OP did not mention initially which year of car he was looking at though. Not all C3s started production in August. Some were September, some October. 1970 started production in January, making F=June.
