Autometer guages in 75 dash/Tach and Speedo
Has anyone here done the Autometer tach and Speedometer in a C3 vette dash? I swapped out all the original guages for Phantom's now just have the Tach and Speedo left but cant seem to get that section out after removing all the outside screws.
What else holds it in that Im missing?
The autometers fit nice in place of the stock guages and work much better and a lot eaiser to see with my old eyes.
Thanks for any help.

Are you talking about the driver's side dash pad?
1) Remove screws.
2) Remove windshield pillar trim pads on both sides.
3) Remove passenger side dash pad.
4) Find one hidden screw on top dash pad, then remove top dash pad.
5) Remove lower cover from steering column.
6) Unbolt two large bolts that hold steering column up.
7) Disconnect speedometer cable by pushing on clip.
8) Disconnect odometer trip[ reset cable from bracket under dash.
9) Push steering column down and slow pull driver's dash pad out.
10) As it comes out, reach behind and slowly unplug all the bulbs and the tach. They are all color coded for reassembly.
It is really pretty easy if you take you time. Takes me about three hours to remove and replace.

Thanks guys for your help. This is a great site with a lot of helpful people, unlike a lot of other sites where the people are afraid to give you any info in fear that you might have a better car than them. Wont mention any name but I work on a lot of old classic cars.
