Anyone been watching the auction from California this weekend? Seems like they are selling these cars dirt cheap! I don't know much about the subject, but damn there are some nice cars going for low $$. Do they use reserves? I guess not!
I saw a 68 RS/SS 350 4sp Camaro go for $20K mint underneath and all.
and a 62 409 Impala with M22 Rockcrusher A/FX car. Man did it look good. $18K
Purple 383 RT Challenger 32K
76 455 TA 26K
69 Mach 1 351 Car 24K
I had to turn it off... I think I paid too much for my $hit Boxes!!! LOL
A few very nice customs went for $22,000. Hell, I would have bought em for that kind of money. Some of those had to have had $100,000 builds on them. Sign of the times I guess....
I attended the auction on Saturday and I can tell you that most of the cars that sold in the $20,000 range were not Creampuffs. They look very good on TV, and on stage, but up close some of them are not in very good condition.
I saw a black 69 Camaro SS that looked awesome on stage and on TV and was described as a full frame off rotisserie restoration which sold for $38,000 , but when I saw it in the tent after it sold I couldn't believe it was the same car. There were deep sanding scratches under the paint, as well as bubbles and cracks in the paint. It looked like an Earl Shieb $99.00 special. Very poor condition and in my opinion a very dishonest description.
There were some very good deals though such as a 74 Big Block C3 Convertible that sold for just under $20,000.. It looked as good close up as it did on TV... Very Clean..
The 1970 Chevelle LS6 that sold for $230,000 was a very nice car up close and worth the $230,000 price tag..I think it was 1 of 18 made.
