Default Back-up light switch

I am trying to figure out where the back-up light switch goes. The one on my car has been removed but I don't see any place on the transmission where the brackets I have seen in parts books can be mounted. I have tried to find a picture of the setup on the web and in all of the books I have but have not been able to find a decent one. Can anyone help me?

It might help if you mention what year the car is and which transmission.

This is the only photo I have available at the moment, this is a 71 4-speed:

Sorry about that. I have a 1971 with a 4 speed transmission. The information and pictures from the link supplied by champs65 help a lot. Thanks for the input from everyone.

When you bolt it to the tranny, center the elongated bolt holes on the bolts for your starting point. Mine worked and didn't need any adjustment, but you may need to rotate it one way or the other for it to work so the reverse lights don't stay on.
here's some more pics & threadd when I installed mine. Easy job, but be careful to not loose the tiny connecting rod clips!

Thanks for the info GD70. Great pictures. Now I just have to get all of the parts and get them installed. I am looking forward to getting this done even though most of the people who have done this said it was a real hassle.
