Default Why no pictures?

I tend to click lots of profiles and it seems most of the ones I click have no pictures of their car or cars, it is just being lazy or not caring...it's a car forum why don't more people show off what they have???

one time I could not get into one of the sites I do use, and so opened another account at another site....so have two....big deal....

I work on the dang things all day, I certainly don't want to own one or have a bunch of pictures around of them.

might be a number of reasons...

1) full of crap, don't own a Corvette

2) don't know how to post pics

3) busy with life/ family / work

4) think government or aileans will come get them if private/personal stuff is posted...lol

Not directed at any one person but sometimes I will be in a thread and a person is trashing someones car or bragging how great theirs is and never a single picture to back up any of it,

Long ago a fellow was trashing the heck out of my custom tastes, after a long hard press for pics of his pistine ncrs car it turned out his car was a POS,

But negitive points aside...I love to see the cars of the person I am talking to

when I upload pics the upload fails because the pics are too big... so i have to go in with a photo editor.. shrink them down,, try again.. fail again.. edit them to shrink them some more.. fail again.. etc.. etc... ect... too much hassle... i bet there is an easier way.. so someone let me know?

I guess in my case it was just being lazy

I set up a garage a long time ago, but when I went to upload some pics they were all too big and I just never got around to shrinking them for upload. Your post motivated me to toss a few up! I'm definitely one of those you'd say has a POS... but I can see the potential! I plan on a restore and motion inspired HOK cobalt/white paint job eventually.

It's perfectly sound mechanically, but needs a good bit of elbow grease on the body, so I plan on getting the body straight again and dropping hod rod black paint job on it and driving it that way for a few years till my kids are old enough that I can work on it while they play in the yard (they're 4 months and 2 years). So far I haven't been able to do more than remove the chrome bumpers, drop the rusted out gas tank and replace the carb, and fuel pump (the previous owner let the tank fill with water and then tried to start it...and then let the water sit in all the fuel system till i bought it).

I'm still a dial up user, and my pictures are not hosted... Photobucket sucks monkey nads... loaded with spam, spyware and ads. It takes me 20 or more minutes to upload an eBay listing single photo, and an hour or more to e-mail 5 or 6 large format pics to someone nice enough to host them for me. Unless mama springs for a more potent ISP, you'll likely not see photos of the "accidental 1977" in my garage or in a post.

Got to agree with you on that one Bats, like they say talk is cheap (not really), and a picture is worth a thousand words.

I can tell you the only reason i don't have photos of my car in my profile garage is because the file size they allow is so small that i'm too lazy. I'd have to shrink every photo i want to upload to get it to fit.

But because of this link i did update my car domain profile and added that link to my profile.

Monkey...

I admit I live under a rock at times but I have been using Photobucket for years and I am missing the Spam you are talking about their ads keep the postings free but if you really found spyware linked to photobucket please send me the link or name of the spyware,

If you are just pissy because you are still on dial up...man I feel your pain, I was on that until I got married about 4 years ago my wife who is a professor has to have high speed for classes so I never knew just how slow I was.

I'm new to the forum and wondered why Corvette lovers didn't proudly display their pics, too.

But yeah, now we've got some answers as to why. Also add that when you delete a hosting account, the link gets broken to the pic.

The web master must be lazy, otherwise the upload could be programmed to re-size the photos to a standard size that the forum would display.

A lot of sites have this problem. It's pretty stupid to tell a user that the pic has to be "x" pixels by "x" pixels in size.

FeeBay automatically downsizes the photos to their acceptable size.

JMHO.

I posted my photos - having to downsize the avatar photo was a little tricky though.

One of the things I don't like is when reading older threads the pictures sometimes aren't there anymore. Makes the thread useless if it's something technical and the pictures would have helped.
