Default Sealant/bonding question

In my wiper compartment, there is a thick sealant in a few areas, including up against the bonding strips that mate the front clip to the birdcage, at the corners. What is this stuff? It looks like a thick strip of sealant... Unfortunately, it is starting to crack up in a few places. Also, I have one of these bonding strips that has popped loose. What product should I use to fix this? Vette Panel Bond? Thanks a lot.

It is. Factory applied sealant. It helps to keep water out of the interior. I used 3M automotive undercoating from the rattle can. It dries dark brown, not black, but can be painted after it sets up.

Any fiberglass bonding agent which is compatible with both types of fiberglass (polyester and SMC).

Easy enough. I may apply a little seam sealer on top of the remaining stuff then, before painting. I wasn't sure if this product was used to do any bonding, due to the location of it (some being attached to the bonding strip) and the volume of the sealer used. Thanks a lot, Mike!
