I have a book that shows a wheel of "that type" as a Factory Available Item...as a replacement for the "Air Leaky" Kelsey-Hays wheels...But that book is Full day away...I will look it up and compare, to your Pictures and Model Year...I am sure that others here have the book for a quicker look...it is in the wheels section of either the "how to modify" or "restoration guide" book for the C-3's.

Reason: of course it may just be the "Beer" talking...or something like that...

That would make sense, the owner said the car came with these alum wheels from the day they bought it...it has a standard rally wheel for a spare though...I would welcome any background info, thanks.
Well, it seems to be a Dealer added option... the wheel is most likely made by "Western" who made some of the few wheels that could be used on a Corvette. The "Kelsey Hayes" Alloy Wheels that were intended to be introduced on the '73 models...But did not make it to the Factory until '76. " American Racing Equipment" made a few, but where never offered as an option . And then finally in '76 " Kelsey Hayes" and "Western" produced the slotted alloy wheel to be used on the Corvette. It is still a good looking wheel, and possibly made by G.M. Supplier. And it is part of your Corvette's History...
