When I see all the pics on the forum of the great frame off's in progress, it sure looks like ya'll have a lot more room to work in. I think everybody else's garage is just bigger than mine. I guess I'll have to see if I can convince the other half that "WE" need a bigger space!
Id love to do a frame off on my 72. How tall of a garage do I need to get the body off. Mine is only 8'.
That should be enough. I just pulled mine out in the driveway, used the engine picker, and thanks to the bigger tires on the dolly, I was able to roll it around pretty easily even in the grass. The draw back to using the engine hoist is the fact that you have to roll it away from the chassis after you lift the body up.
Your BLESSED with that much room.
I can hardly work on my ZX11 Kawasaki 'cause of the big red lump of fibreglass......OOOOPs wrong forum,
I (of course) mean....
I can hardly work on my Vette cause of my ZX11 being in the way. LOL.

You can strip the frame right under the body, drop it to the floor, and slide it out. Then, clean it , paint it, and slip it back under and put everything back together.
My wife just sold a substantial piece of property in Montana that she inherited. I am now working on her to convert some of the proceeds to a new four car garage/shop. She says, "why, then you'll just buy more cars and need something bigger still." My response? So?
(Peanut butter and jelly sandwich for supper tonight)

My wife has been talking about going to Montana! Should be plenty of room out there to build a nice size garage. Maybe one as large as "Foxymophandlpapa's" or "Gyopp's" which look great!
