Default BB Shroud Question

69 427/400 AC. The top outlet of the radiator is very close to the corner of the shroud and it seems like the hose will make contact with the shroud - see pic below. Both the shroud and radiator are correct for the car. I see in the AIM a picture showing the corner of the shroud cut out and assume that this may have been a practice to create clearance. Anyone out there have a similar issue and how did you resolve it? Does anyone have a piece of their shroud cut out to make clearance for the radiator hose?

The shroud does not look like it is on all the way. It should be past the 1/4" step down to the 1" step. Then the seal goes in front of the 1/4" step.

The seal definitely belongs on the flat top of the radiator rather than the edge/corner.
