Hey guys. M'n cousin bought today a corvette stingray form 1976 totally rebuild. We found a button on the left side of the center console. By the drivers legs. It says 'on' if you switch it.
We couldn't find what it does.
oke thanks it could be.
and where does he need it for?
When we were driving the car home this afternoon we found a 'problem'
When we were wiating for a traffis light and start making the turn(it was only when we made a turn after a traffic ligt) the hole car 'shaked' a little bit en we could hear a shokking/cracking sound.
It was only 4 or 5 times in a 300 km ride.
Somebody knows what it could be?
ok thanks, the switch was the rear defrogger yes. thanks for that guys.
2 other problems.
Yesterday we couldn't get the highbeam on but only the normal lights. But today we can only turn the highbeam on and not the 'low' lights.
I've read that if you pull the button 1 'shock' out, the light's are on and when you pull it 1 'shock' farder, the highbeams should be on. But now we only can turn the highbeams on.
And what i yesterday told about the shocking car when we made a turn..
I was thinking about the differential too
It has a shift kit in it too, maybe that make sense?
I'm from holland and visiting family in Canada.
When i have enough money i will buy a corvette stingray too.
switch is on the floor, left side for the high/lo beam. Activated with your foot, assuming 76's still had the floor dimmer switch and not the column type......................

Pull the headlight switch out all the way and then dim or bright lights are controlled by switch under the carpet using the left foot.
IN europe i struggled to get some GM posi traction additive! Impossible to get hold of some and no US company will fly it over sea.
I ended up using some 80 90 LS differential oil and it worked great, it has some limited slip additive in it...
Not sure its the same, but it did make my diff stop squeeking in slow turns!
