Default Backless Booster Seats for C3?

Need assistance in selecting a Childs Booster Seat that would be compatible with my 70' Convertible and not destroy the leather seats.

I'm looking forward to cruising with the future owner: Age 5, 44" tall.

I appreciate your time and input.

Thank You.

In our other cars, we have a mat that lays under the booster seats to protect the leather. I think we got ours at Target.

Do you have shoulder belts in your 1970??? The whole point of a booster is to get the child's shoulder in line with the shoulder belt.

What's the child height minimum in your state? 44" might be tall enough to skip the booster and use the belts.

I double up a bath towel and lay it on top of the leather in my cars before strapping down the car seat.

You want to crank down the child seat as tight as you get it....which will press it into the seat. Using a towel rather than a mat of some sort will disperse the footprint of the plastic child seat such that it will not telegraph its imprint into the leather.

my 2 centavos..

Any of the boosters will work. Just make sure the seatbelt goes across the pelvic bone and no higher and the shoulder part of the belt doesn't interfere with the child's head. Make sure the child has head protection from the back of the seat. An early c-3 has pretty low seats so get one with an adjustable back. Keep him/her in the booster until he/she is 8 years old and 4' 9" tall. Once he/she reaches this height he/she can use the car seat belt only. To protect your leather seats, you can get some rubber shelf matting to place under it. This will keep the booster from sliding around also.

Default Thanks For The Information

All,

Thank you for your comments.

In response, my 70' has stock leather seats with shoulder belts (I added the shoulder belts during restoration in 05').

The suggestions regarding placement of towels/padding between the booster and seat is a must. Shoulder belt placement is a concern so I'll have to verify this upon purchase. Finally, I'd like to find a unit that has base dimensions of no more than 17"W x 17.5"L so as not to rub against the seatbelt/center console and right door panel.

If anyone can recommend a specific booster make/model it would be appreciated.

Once again, I appreciate your time/input.
