Default oil pressure sending unit

Where on the engine is the oil pressure sending unit on a 1976 Corvette located?

Back of the intake on top, should have one wire coming off the top, if it hasn't been changed it should be like a little can about 2" in diameter, screws in.

hope that helps,

Frank

My 1976 Corvette has the oil pressure sender located just above the oil filter.

Most small blocks will be right by the distributer, in the rear of the block,
On a big block it will be in the left side of the block just above the oil filter

I know 77,78 and 82s had it just above the oil filter. I have seen the sender up behind the intake at the back of the block , don't remember if it was stock or moved because the oil filter spot was used for a shutoff for a fuel pump.
Electric oil gauges started in 74, maybe they were at the top. Can't remember.

My 78 and a friends 82 both have the sending unit above the oil filter, but my 71 Nova and 72 Chevelle both had them on the back side of the intake by the distributor. All are small blocks.
