1982 Corvette: vehicle am considering, but in the area of the drivers door jamb it is dark at the bottom? Is this from the factory? Also noted in the area of the door jamb at the base of the windshield where the hood and fender meet...it appears to be rough? Is that factory or signs of a previous repair? There may even be a small split?
Any opinions or guesses?
Trying to figure this car out prior to making a road trip to view.
The engine compartment looks pretty much stock. A repaint, missing some hood rubber stops on the side.
I apologize for posting 4 different pictures in different sections here...getting the hang of posting.

Hey man, The door jamb area looks odd. My dad was the original owner of my c3, so I know it is pretty close to stock, so I'll take some pictures of my door area when I grab my lunch, my car is black though so it may be hard to see well.
Here is a picture of the passenger door...lower black as well. Wondering about the area in the door jamb under the windshield mount...appears patched? Is that factory?

Yes it does, the factory didn't try and make those areas look pretty.
The black out was done in this area to avoid the body color bleeding through into the interior color scheme.... I.E. when you are in the car...lets say drivers seat and you look across to the passenger side forward door jamb....you should see nothing but the interior color and the black out. To take this notion one step further....you should not be able to see the exterior color of the car, within the interior of the car.
This is a very good area to keep a watchful eye on when trying to determine if your C3 has been repainted....9 out of 10 painters will coat these areas with body color, but fail to come back and black them out per factory spec's.
Another closer of the area in question...just trying to determine if body work done or factory?
No sweat. Everything here looks factory with the exception of the door latch bezel which should be color coded (looks black in the pic). Workers were supposed to smooth down any excess bonding agent in appearance areas and this is one of them.
You can tell the "smoothing" was more or less up to who ever happened to be doing it at the time.

When I sit in the driver seat and look at that area on the passenger side I see the exterior color of the car parked next to me. Time for new weather strips.
Well, took a 4.5 hour ride (each way) to look at the 1982 in the pictures i posted. I was sent quite a few pictures of the car and when I arrived at the dealer and saw it parked out front I really thought it was a different car than what I viewed in the pictures I received. My son did not think it was the same vehicle.
It had an exterior re-paint which was in poor condition. Door jambs looked original.
The car was rough and ran poorly. No offer was given.
