i saw two 1982 covettes sell this past month in my area[fort wayne In].the first one was black and had 100k miles sold for $6000 .the second one was that green color that was rare, it had 76000 on it and sold for $5500. both cars sold in 30 days .this gives you a average price for a 1982.how are corvettes selling in your area?
I currently have my '82 for sale.... kinda... It was on Ebay twice and got up a little over 6k. That doesn't mean I will sell it for that. Most of the ones I have seen around this area (TX) are in the 10-13k range but are not moving. The market is really soft but I am not desperate and I am not going to contribute to the low prices... Its a sad state we are in (economy) but ... IT IS WHAT IT IS
Just bought my 82 in Mass. for $6500.00 w/70k. Needed $500.00 in brakes and AC work. Paint was rought too, so it is in for paint now.
That would sound about right for around here in Kansas also. $6500 + $500 + another $4000 or 5000 for paint = $11,000 or 12,000 for a pretty decent car then.
When I was looking the last two months before buying my '79 it was that way then too. If they were around that $6000 range, they typically needed paint and interior for sure and usually had 70,000+ miles on them, so when you figure what those little projects are going to cost, you can either buy low and put a lot more into them or find one already there. I chose low miles (40,000) original interior that as perfect as you could expect, pretty nice paint and a lot of bling under the hood for $12,000. I thought that was fair.
I bought my 82' last year out of Southern Cal. 40000 original miles, with fresh two tone paint and tires, but had to put a new heater core in. $12700. Since then I have put another $2000 into it, pushing close to 15k at this point. But, I pretty much have a close to pristine car that I wouldnt sell for under 14k . I'll just keep and enjoy it.

Bought my 1982 for 4900 up in northern NY. It was a 2 owner as verified through carfax, had ~62k, now has ~63k. I've had to invest IIRC 2-3k in additional work to get it roadable, tuned, and acceptable for use as a dd. I think I barely spent a grand on cosmetic parts and new tools since then.
Depends on the local market really. There's corvettes around the Syracuse/Fort Drum area ASKING FOR 12-16k with 100k+ miles on them (no rust and ALWAYS garaged of course). My girlfriend and I just laugh at those ads. Been looking at some of the same ones in CL for many months now with those sorts of outlandish asking prices. Yes we know they're trying to recoup the investment cost, but in this market and crappy economy, it's quite laughable. Very very few around here are fairly priced IMHO.
a asking price is just that ,you have to start somewhere.i have stopped and talked to people and they came way down on the car and others have barret-jackson on there dvr.if you like the car, stop and talk and leave a number .
