can someone please send me pictures of an original delco radio installed in their 1982 - the one that does not have the clock in it (in other words there is an analog clock in the instrument bezel).
It is the "mechanical" radio with the chrome mchanical push-buttons that you pull out and push in to save your channel.......
I have a drawing of it from the service manual, but no photo. I would imagine it's a pretty rare option in 82. Mine has the digital radio with clock. What exactly are you looking to see?
The first picture is not very good, but it is my original 82 radio. The second picture is of a very similar radio, but just a better picture. Is this what you are after? I still have my radio out in the garage in a box if you need a better picture.
That's got the digital display and clock like mine. (and probably most 82s)
Apparently he's looking for a shot of the analog radio option.
They look pretty similar but the preset buttons are bigger and obviously no seek/scan buttons.
Dang, my bad. It has been so long since I used it, I forgot what it actually was. Looking at the production numbers you were right. It doesn't look like there were too many 82s with that radio...
I thought that all '82s came with the digital clock in the radio and the oil temp gauge instead of the analog clock. I put the digital clock along with the oil temp gauge into my '81.
I think I too, still have the original 81 manual radio in a box; why I have no idea, but I do.
theother_bob is correct - my 82 is rare in that it has an analog clock in the bezel and that means it would not have a radio with a clock in it, so it would have to be the U58 option - that is what I am trying to get a picture of - the U58 option.
