I'm not sure i can help but Mine was also broken beyond repair so i took the switch out and wire the two wires direct.
Although my wipers still dont' work 100% of the time so i need to figure it out before i can be more help.
But it seemed like it was just a simple on/off switch and by wiring it direct i kept them moving, and if i wanted to stop them(if they were working) i could just unplug the connection....
straub18045, yes, the key was out of the ignition, the lights were off, wiper & car doors were closed. The buzzing sound is still there and I unhook the battery after every drive for the time being. The only things I've done to the car is replace the battery and alternator. The noise seems to originate from near the vacuum system.
Thanks for your reply also punisher vette. The manual for replacing the wiper blades says: Turn wiper control on. Rotate the wiper service override switch control clockwise to stop the wiper blades on the windshield.
I was just wondering if anybody experienced the **** getting stuck. The **** itself does not look damaged. I didn't want to force it either, it feels fragile. I guess I could just unhook the battery while the wipers are moving, but was hoping to shed some light on the problem.
