Hiyas,
As some of you know, the floor pan on the drivers side is lower then the passenger side due to the electric drivers seat option on some Corvettes. I bought 2 C5 sport seats and installed them on my stock floors. The drivers seat was still a little high for me and the passenger seat was at around 2 inches higher.
Being 6'4, I wanted to lower both sides evenly and as low as possible while retaining the power controls. I modified the front seat brackets to lower them as much as possible, and we are welding nuts to the mounting brackets so you can bolt them in from underneith.
My friend made templates out of cardboard and fabricated these pans for me. He is tig welding them in tomorrow.
My measurements seem to give me about 5 inches more headroom on the drivers side and around 7 inches more in the passenger. This allows my seatbacks to evenly recline all the way back and tuck in under my roll bar perfectly.
I will post more pics on completion.
Hey i was wondering if youve got an update on those pictures? Trying to do the same thing right now also being 6'4 and ill take any of the help and guidance i can get lol.
Other forums have a message beside the “reply to thread” button telling you that a thread hasn’t been contributed to in a significant amount of time. It helps from resurrecting old threads.
I think this forum would benefit from such a feature.
