75 says Stingray on it

I'd go with the 75 too for the reasons stated above, but the 78 is very cool and has a much more modern interior and is more likely to have other creature comforts (tilt/tele, cruise (probably broken anyway), power stuff), not knowing the options on either car. 78 will be more accommodating for cruising, 75 will be more oldschool and bad ***.

It sounds like you're just jumping into this though, and if you are I'd really suggest having someone look the car over for you, someone who knows where to look for rust and who knows what to look for on Corvettes. Someone like another C3 owner. If you're getting some kind of insane deal on one of these cars and have to choose, go for it, but if you're just diving into your first Vette and these are the first two available, please bring someone with you and bring some patience too because some seemingly beautiful Vettes to untrained eyes unfortunately turn out to be rotten apples on the inside.

Good luck!

Edit:
I didn't notice your post count star thing before, so I guess you have some experience with Corvettes But of course someone had to say it. Oh and if the 75 had the luggage rack I wouldn't buy it but that's just me!

I'd go with the 75 also. I have one so I may be a bit on the partial side. But if it is truely low miles as you stated and you have previous own info... that is the one I would choose! Good luck and keep us posted.

I would not go with either as they are both mullet vette's. For C3's go for a 80-82 or possibly a 68-72 most others are practically worthless.

Also the ones made from 73-79 are sweet cars. Really anything within that 68-82 range

On what basis do you doubt it ? ? I know where there are 2 - 1975 L48 auto's sitting right now, both with under 70k miles... and yes, they have clear titles and are street legal and licensed.

The 74-82 might not be as desireable at the 68-72 / 73, but they are still Corvettes and should be looked at as a bazzturd child.

It's 74-79 that sit around with no buyers they are complete Mullet vette's. A 80-82 seems to sell in these parts just fine. They are much better looking. Even 73's aren't all that desirable i have seen many with a front bumper swapped out for 68-72 style.

Well just goes to show you that people have different preferences i Vettes. I and several other people I know consider the 80 - 82 year models to be the least desirable of the C3's. I just flat out would not own one.

My personal prferences would be 69 - 72 and 75 - 77. That's one of the great things about the C3's... There's a C3 for many different tastes.

1) Body Style, I prefer the rear window of the 68 - 77 over the 78 - 82

3) In some states the 75 is smog exempt and the 78 is not

.

Bingo. In California, being free from the smog rules, will make the 75 a much more valuable car. I don't know if this is a consideration in PA.

1986 Z51.. As you wish

As for "these parts" that would be the great white north. It seems as though people can't give 74-79s away. I have seen them in decent shape for $2500 that only need some TLC. Not so much 74's-75's as they are less plentiful but 76-79 are laying around all over the place. Another issue with Mullet vettes around here is the owners. They put $5 screw on turn down exhaust tips (I have seen this more then once), they all seem to have leaky factory exhaust systems that sound terrible. In fact I passed a 78-79 today with a horrible exhaust leak and 215's on all four corners.

Furthermore the owners of these years tend to dress like slobs. $10 Velcro running shoes, fanny pack, huge gut with a beer t-shirt.This is not a complete generalization but I have seen more then one driver that matched this criteria.

74-76 look much better with some finishing touches..

Wow, hard to believe how rude some people can be. I have a 76 and I love it!!

I just bought a C3 and the decision was between a 78 and a 76. I made my decision based on the fact that I thought the straight back window style was a little better looking to me than the bubble. Just my personal choice, I thought they both were nice. I think you need to start with what you like better as far as body style, manual vs. auto, features of the car, etc, before factoring in $$, condition, etc.. Then you'll know if one or either of these is for you.

No point in buying a car because it might be a little more valuable than another one if it generally isnt the one you want.
