Default Carburetor I.D. Help

I have a 1969 427, 390 with a Carter quadrajet but can't seem to match the numbers on the carb for identification. I'd like to order a kit but would appreciate someone telling me what I've got in order to get the right kit. This is what looks like is stamped on the side: 7037931 in a semi-circle, then enclosed in a circle D39.
Thanks

7037931 sounds like it may be a casting number, not the part number.
It shows up on Camaro forums, same question, what is it.

There should be a number stamped over the secondary throttle shaft.
Probably begins with 702... This would likely be the part number of the carb.

The correct original number for you carb should be 7029215 for a 4 speed or 7029204 for automatic. This number can be found on the drivers side of the carb on the rear vertical boss. Numbers will be going up & down not front to back.

Thanks all for the quick and helpful responses to my question. Yes, I believe the 7037931 is the casting number. The link to the Camero website was exactly what I needed to find the number location also very interesting. After much cleaning I finally found the number 7029201 with E9 and ED stamped underneath. My Stringray Guidebook lists the first carb number of 7029202 and doesn't list the 201. Now can anyone identify my carb and date?

After looking at Carbs Unlimited referenced from the Camero website I believe I've identified the carb. 7029201 E9 should be 1969 quadrajet for manual transmission, built in May 1969. Correct me if I'm wrong.
