Default A Note to Our Valued Customers

Corvette Central is pleased to announce that we are in the process of implementing a new warehouse management system, which consists of a major upgrade in programming and equipment that will give us cutting edge technology and allow us to handle inventory faster and more efficiently than ever before.

We do not anticipate that this change-over will cause any significant delays in the processing of orders and you should expect to receive your order within 7 to 10 business days as usual.

We sincerely appreciate your business and look forward to continue serving all your Corvette needs.

Thank you!

Default 7-10 days?

7 to 10 days? Is that a worst case scenario? I am in Alaska, I seldom wait that long for an order. A vendor that takes that long usually won't get my money twice.

I would hope that your long overdue system upgrade would expedite your ship date and ultimately the time we all wait for our orders.

Thank you for the update though. The communication is appreciated. We have vendor in Florida that has yet to defend its reputation on this forum.

1. I would rather a vendor say they deliver in 7 to 10 days, and deliver the part in 7 to 10 days than deal with a vendor that says they will deliver in 2 days and then take 7 to 10 days to deliver.

2. I have ordered from CC twice. Both times I had the parts in 4-5 days. I am sure it depends on things like how big the item is, where it is going, how many orders they have in their shop on that given day etc.

I'm glad to hear about the new system!

I think that's a worst case scenario. Unfortunately many of these part houses tend to have things drop shipped from the actual mfg. While some of the larger items need to first be ordered by the supplier, received, then shipped.

They don't want to be left holding the ball for the 3rd party and it's just the way it is.

Thanks for the update CC.

Several years ago before Ricks Camaro sold out to Ecklers, I used to order one morning and get ups the next afternoon. they were 4 hrs away. Now that was great service.

I've ordered a couple of things from CC and had no problems with them.

Ditto. I usually get my orders within a couple days, but it probably helps that I'm only about 2 hours from them up the shoreline.

I really appreciate being told upfront what is going on. I've ordered from CC many times and am a satisfied customer. I work M-F and quite a few Saturdays so even if you got the parts to me in 1-2 days (or hours) they just sit in the box until I got to them anyway.

Besides, my wife would add that I spend money a little slower if it takes a few more days to get here. As soon as I get one thing done, I order the next thing I need.

Until Corvette Central makes 2 major improvements to their business, they'll never get any more of mine. First - "Real Time Inventory" (as Zip has, with next day delivery) where you can see immediately on-line what is "In Stock" or not. Second - ACTUALLY STOCK ITEMS, instead of the usual back order surprise that you find out about after waiting a week or two, or three! IMO - CC has a great web page, but that doesn't mean anything. Anyone can run an internet based business and just act as the middle man without inventory. I've also gotten my share of wrong parts from CC. And I've learned quite a bit about what a cut throat business this is from reading Dr. Rebuild's web page!

I tried to use their site to price a $5k order a couple of years ago. Their system dumped the shopping cart as I was nearing the end of several hours of work. This happened twice. I ended up purchasing from Paragon after pricing from 3 major vendors. I did place an order in May 2009 with CC. The 6th day after my order was placed (2 very small items) I received an email saying "we are proud to announce that your order will ship in the next 24 - 48 hours". I responded by asking why they would be proud to announce something like that. It should have shipped within a couple of days of the order date, IMHO. I Use both Willcox and Paragon. I will use CC they are just not my preference. I am glad they are listening to the forum. I can't say that any one supplier always has the best part or price. to me service is what matters. This is not meant to bash CC, consider it my experience and constructive criticism.

Jim

Thanks for everyone's responses. We appreciate the feedback!

Yes, the time frame has been stretched a bit to accommodate the changes. We just wanted to let our customers know that there may be some hiccups along the way as we install and implement the new warehouse management system.

I am taking orders now for your parts. After you pay me, I will place your order with the manufacturer of the parts, and send you a packing slip that will show your parts on "back order". They should be expected by ________ (pick a date around 10 days away). I will then thank you for your business and your patience. Please understand that returned parts (even if we screw up) may be subject to a 25% "re-stocking fee" (even though I don't actually stock any parts).

GEE. THIS IS EASY! And all I need is a web page and a catalog!

But...will you continue to send an email saying "your order has shipped" even though it hasn't?

I wish all mail order companies were as efficient as Summit or Jegs. Flat rate shipping ($12?) and fast turnaround. I place my orders Monday morn and have my parts waiting on my doorstep when get home from work on Wednesday. Paragon is the fastest and fairest priced, and my Corvette parts vendor of choice.

Actually the date was over ONE HUNDRED days away on a part that is no longer manufactured. I almost asked the girl on the phone if that back order was via time machine
