Hey I was wondering if any of yall have pictures of the snorkel in the L82 because I'm having trouble figuring out how it goes together (I didn't take it apart)
its really very straightforward - its essentially 4 pieces, the intake which fits on the thop of the core support - the side piece which attaches to the fender and the intake, and then the two different hoses which connect to the air cleaner assembly.
From: Arlington Va Current ride 04 vert, previous vettes: 69 vert, 77 resto mod
i just put this in on my 77 the front piece slips over the radiator and underneath the metal shroud support. you use blind fasteners that slip over the plastic peice and the screws or bolts depending on your blind fastener go through the existing holes in the metal support and attach to the fastener. this has made a difference in performance on my car.....it likes the cool outside air
Someone took all the air cleaner parts off my 76 L-82 and put on some cheap Edelbrock air filter. I'd like ot replace it and thinking this snorkel is the best for my engine. Do you know where I can get all these parts? Problem is I looked at Ecklers, etc and they seem to have most but I'm looking at $400+
Sorry, I didnt mean all Edelbrock air filters are cheap. The one I had is the small $20 one that I've been told is a fire hazard. Anyway, I'd like this snorkel setup if I can get it.
when i got my 75 someone had put the pretty nice low profile edelbrock on instead of using the needed 1/2" spacer with a 2,1/2" air filter they beat a freaking hole in the bottom pan of it for that linkage to work. some people are just stupid. i bought the 1/2" spacer, 2,1/2" filter and fixed the whole that brainchild put in it.
Ya, I've looked on ebay and craigslist. Also I'll keep a look out on this site under parts. Just looks like it's going to be expensive if I need all the pieces. Not sure I want to spend that much if I don;t hav etoo. I'll call local salvage yards too but not sure if they typically have any old vettes left.

Call some of the corvette salvage yards. Do a google search for them.
Place a WYB post in the parts section here as well.

Do you have an early or late radiator and support? They changed during the model year. I have an early set up on my '76, #29750 manufactured in April of '76.
I purchased a late dual intake (did not know better) and it does not fit over the radiator. Space between the radiator monting brackets, at the top of the radiator, is too narrow for the later years to fit. I've been screwing with this for a few years. I will not cut up a good stock piece to make it work.
Another problem is the intake manifold. I am using an Edelbrock Performer RPM and a 7/8" or 1" drop base.
