I hate to do anything after I "finish" a resto......
I left the tranny unfilled for way too long during my resto and dried out the seal. I found this out the first day out of the garage. 400 miles later, I decide to change the seal.
Since I was changing the seal...I purchased on a B&M 2400 converter. Since I had the tranny out...I bought a B&M shift improver kit.
One hour and the tranny was out. The front seal was easy. Upon futher examination, I had found some else had done some work on the valve body. Five out of six check ***** were installed. #5 was missing. Fortunately, I only need three installed for the shift kit.
Finished the kit install. During reassembly my friend noticed an unusual feature in the manual shift area. What innovation. The last person to work on the tranny used a finishing nail to hold the pivot rod instead of a roll pin.
Five hours start to finish. The car drives like a Corvette now.
That's pretty good time for that job, everything must have went the way its supposed to.I also have to change that seal as well as the pinion seal,I'm afraid that if I spend that much time under my car,I will be so disgusted it will evolve into lifting the body and doing the full frame resto it needs...

I used the lift at the firehouse where I volley. The mechanic and I had it out in an hour. 2 and a half to work and the rest to put back. I was out testing at one this morning.
I am a little tired right about now but, no leaks and power to the wheels...worth it.
