Default 68 Deck Lid missing bumpers

My deck lid has no bumpers for the deck lid to hold the top down. There are no holes to attach them. My build date is March 17th. Did they not install them on early models?
Also is it color keyed to the body on the underside?

Not sure what a bumper is, but I have two latch plates on mine that receive pins from the top. Yes it is painted underneath.

The rubber bumpers prevent the folded down top from rattling. I do not know if the 1968 had them but the catalogues say yes.

Thanks for the reply's. There would have to be threaded inserts to fasten the bracket to. My assembly manual shows the brackets. I'm not sure how to add the threaded holes for the bracket.

Welded nuts on the backsides of them.

No wonder I had no idea what you were talking about! Bumpers? We have 2 chrome bumpers, that's all we need!
