I had a gas leak from the canister on a '73. Only happened when I filled the tank more than ~3/4 full. Never was able to discover what was causing the problem so I finally changed over to a vented system.

Is that the black box on the drivers side of the tank? It's up high and has 2 hoses connected to it? Mine was leaking last night after a fillup. I siphoned about 4 gallons out and the leak stopped. It was also leaking onto my drivers side muffler. BTW, my vette is a '73 also.

Thanks

OK, if I just looked a little harder I would have found the answer.

The little black box is the separator valve/Vapor Separator. It also looks like I may need a new vapor canister as well.

I noticed that my seperator wasn't working when I went to fill up, I no longer had the vacuum/suction when I removed the gas cap. I believe that if the system is working correctly, when you remove the gas cap, you should feel the vacuum that has built up.

I haven't noticed any vacuum/suction when I remove the gas cap, but I have only filled it up once and it was noisy at the gas station. I'll check for the vacuum/suction when I get home today. I'm still going to get the liquid/vapor seperator thing to replace. From Zip-Corvettes.

Thanks

I have found it was the vapor liquid seperator, the bottom of the device has a split in it. I have since ordered and received the part. I am just waiting for the weather to get warmer so I can instal said device.
