I totally agree with Paul. The pipes are fine on some cars, but the whole concept of an 80-82 convertible is that they didnt make one stock. When you make it custom-looking, you lose that.

I like the TPI idea. I had one on a '63 roadster; very cool.

ill see if i can get a sound clip..it does help the car alot with the sound.

To be honest...I hate sidepipes on later model vettes...and most vettes in general. On this one it just seemed to work, and if it was any other color than white...I wouldnt have them.

Default 81 convertible interior photos?

HobbyPoor,
Do you have any photos of your interior? Specifically, where the seat belts had to be changed and area behind the seats.
Thanks, Greg

Seatbelt wise i just used lap belts..bolts to the floor spots on both sides of seats. A person could install them just like factory...but would have to make/convert a mount

Here's another:

This is an 81 which frequented eBay for a while with a story from the seller about it being one of nine commissioned by GM in 1983 for retiring executives. Assembled in Canada by retired St. Louis "convertible line" employees.

The story is complete BS, but the workmanship is excellent.

Any quality body shop should be able to handle that job.

You know...funny part of that story, I remember long time ago reading about some 80 or 81 verts that were built as for retiring persons. I really wish I could remember how that story went!. Seems i rememb er that they were built by Duntov (im not meaning the turbo verts that duntov built in 80) and I was thinking it was 12, but now you said 9 ...that number does sound familiar. Although I dont think/know this is one...I do recall reading that.

Mr. Duntov's 74 -- the only Corvette he actually owned -- is on display at the NCM.
