Default mail order discounts?

Do any of the vendors ever issues discount coupons?
Getting ready to put a big order together...seats,carpets,steering wheel, locks, etc
Seems like everyone has the same prices for the same stuff.
OK ebay is a little cheaper...they have real leather with vynal skirts for 386 but i want to deal with real vette dealers.
Any suggestions?

Contact the vendor you want to use. Almost all of them have package deal discounts.

Thanks for the advice but i think i was misunderstood.
If i want to buy just seat covers or a whole bunch of stuff...who offers the best price? They all seem the same
I dont want to be a (best)customer like someone mentioned to get a discount.
I dont want a discount only if i spend
a thousand dollars
What i ment was, there are many vendors out there selling the same stuff....what makes one better than the other?
For me its price(like most out there)
I seems like there is no compitition to make the sale
my two cents

Parts are parts and they're worth what they're worth. I don't get people always nit-picking over getting "the best" price on everything they want to buy. In the time you spend on "finding" the best price, you could have taken the wife or g/f out for dinner and a little cuddling which is worth a heck of a lot more than saving $5 on this part and $20 on that one.

If everyone is pricing the same way, that's probably what you're going to pay. Take advantage of the fact you do need to place a big order and call around. Maybe you'll get someone to give you free freight or something, but remember, nobody "owes" you anything and if someone is always lower than everyone else, they probably aren't going to be around very long.

If all pricing seems to be relatively close between suppliers then it seems that you may wish to choose based on customer service and the company interaction with you, the consumer. Seems obvious to me to acknowledge the vendor who took time to respond to your question. Contact Tom.

I like what TWlinks said! -- Very profound. Had a friend that said no matter what you buy, if you look hard enough you can always get it cheaper somewhere, but there is a point of diminishing returns.

Also, there is nothing like doing your own research. Compare a few vendors. I used to say best price was my main criteria, but have morphed to best value. Best price, best quality, and best customer service. From this vendor you should buy most of your parts.

Another approach that can save you $$ so you can take out the wife or G/F is check 3 vendors before you buy. The old get three (3) estimates.

Some vendors have a "Start to Finnish Program" which saves a few $$$ also.

Don't forget that your Vette is also a Chevy and there are many other vendors that sell those parts.

Finally, just look on the left side of this page. We need to support them so we can continue to have the Corvette Forum.

Are those the only parts you are going to buy? There are two things I would consider:

1) Single Source - In my experience from buying parts, shipping is the part that will kill you in the long run. So, your plan to bundle as much as you can and have it shipped at the same time is a great idea. So, get as much as you can think of on each order that you can think of. So, you need a vendor that sells all of these items. Otherwise, you might spend $9 getting a small part shipped from a different vendor which will errode your savings on your first order. Outfits like Corvette Central, Corvette America and Ecklers offer about everything (Ecklers probably has the largest selection).

2) Discounts - Sign up for all the vendors email notifications. The vendors I listed above send out pretty regular discounts on either shipping or parts that don't get discussed here much anymore. It used to be that the discounts were fewer and further between, but with the economy going south, I seem to get a lot more notifications. If you need large items like a dash discounts on shipping is often worth a lot more than a 10% off discount. But anyway, it usually works out to be about the same. If you are ready to order right now, call up a few vendors and ask if you can get a savings. I'm sure your request will be considered by at least a few.

BTW, I have heard good feedback from the Ebay seat cover guys on this forum. You might post that one as a separate message. Also consider buying them on foam. I bought mine on new foam and it was a real time savings.

Good luck.

Feel free to give us a call if you would like us to price out this package to you. Like some other people have said, it isn't always about the best price. If you look at a large quantity of parts, we may be higher on some items, and lower on other items. Overall though we are going to be very competitive with the majority of vendors out there. What we do offer as well though, is great customer service before and after the sale.

Being a car nut myself, I have always purchased parts for my personal cars, from places that I know are going to be around to support me if there is an issue with the part. There is no worse feeling than buying a part because it was the cheapest price and never being able to get ahold of the seller again if there is an issue with the part.

As I said, we would be glad to price out the package for you, and we are running a free shipping offer for orders over $150 right now. Our contact info is below.

Thanks!
Kevin
