Jack Date Question

I pulled a jack out of a 79 parts car today and the only numbers on it are 9B20. How can I tell if this is a 79 jack ? how do you decode the numbers ?

9 = the year (1979)
B = February
20 = day of month.

Jack date is February 20th, 1979

I knew what the numbers meant but didn't know what happens if it's a 1969 jack? 9 would still be the year....

A '69 jack date code will not use that "day numbers" mentioned earlier. They are simply "year/month" in this case, 9 K.
