in canada here, took a chance on a dealership parts dept. Cost was just over $100 cdn. 3 days eta from the US. Just checked CC $35 US. holy crap!! big difference? anybody know if the price difference is also a reflection of quality?
I'm not sure today but used to the aftermarket pumps did not have good check valves.
A bad check valve would sometimes allow the fuel from the carb to siphon back to the tank.
You should be able to purchase the pump at any parts store for no more than CC was asking...could be the same pump, 'Airtex, they are also OE for GM...
You have to be aware of what you ask for or what you really want when buying parts. If you are looking for an original look aftermarket pump, rebuilt originals, or just a replacement. All have different pricing. replacement pump probably is the $35.00 one, a rebuilt original pump about $155.00 and new correct look type somewhere in between.
yes, CC also has a rebuilt for i think $135 US. so, i think i'm hearing the best VALUE is from the dealer if i just want a quality, reliable fuel pump?
