Quick question on strut cam bolts
I just changed out my strut rod bushings to urethane on my 82. When I removed the cam bolts, I dummied out and did not mark the position. My question is should the marks on the cam be pointing up or down?
I did a quick search and there was a post that said the assembly manual shows them pointing down but does not specify. I'm pretty sure mine were pointing up when I removed them. As for rear alignment, the shop I use is only 2 miles away. I won't be doing the alignment until I've replaced the control arm bushings up front.
I haven't re-mounted the rear spring yet so if I need to change the cam orientation, I can very easily. Thanks.
I'm not sure it makes any real difference. Go with the AIM diagram.
FWIW: the entire rear suspension was installed while the frame was on its back, upside down. The orientation of the marks may have been nothing more than an aid to the assemblers to eyeball initial settings.
Note frame is upsidedown on its back. Frame on the right has already been flipped and fuel tank has been set in place.
