Well climbed under the back end and no really bad sign of rust the metal plates in front of the rear wheels where intact and solid so was the frame the Ta did have some rust in there but could see the shims. I have pic on my cell not sure on how to put them up here. The drivers window is broken , seats are gone, has aftermarket hood and lemans headlights( no pop up's), wheels are old style american racing libras, tires still up and the winshield looks like somebody hit it with their fist.
I can do that when I get home have sent them to my home pc. My buddy found this and he is the one that sent the pics to me. The engine is missing the carb and seems to be a big block, has non-power brakes, but the tach might be for a small block. he has seen this sitting there for about the last 4 years.
Looks like a piece a farm equipment that died out in the pasture and left die. Congrats though, it's reported that 62 1968 corvettes were abandoned in bean fields and you just found one of them.

Well Roger:
To tell the truth my buddy works for the railroad and while he was riding the track had to get off to go up a back lane to check a section out. You would NEVER see it from any road! Now here is the rest he has seen it in this spot for at least 5 years and never gave it it thought until he road in our 71' coupe last weekend.
The tack looks like it should be a small block and it was original white with black interior. We have tried the dmv and no record!
Have left some notes on the tractors in the field and the nearest house no call backs yet! Ther is no bad body work except for the arftermarket hood has a crack in it the rest is straight!

Looks like the headlight assemblies are dropping down. Probably the support has separated from the surround. Could be a fun project if you can find the owners and make a deal. I'll also bet the bird cage is toast and a fair amount of rust on the frame from sitting out there so long but you never know.
Good luck.
Glenn
Well I have checked with the NICB (National Insurance Crime Bureau) for any theft or Total Loss Documentation So far nothing is taking a hit. Getting a County Plat book to see who owns the property so might start that way. Going to try to due something before winter hits this year.
