Default problem on yesterdays drive

Wondering if someone could help with this problem. I was out for a 2 1/2 hr. drive yesterday.Everything was fine for the first 2 hrs.,then it seemed like every time I slowed down or came to a stop,it would kill on me.Once I got it started it was ok but as soon as I slowed again it would kill.I managed to get it home and back in the garage.I took it out this morning and everything seemed fine.It almost seems like it was starving for gas.Has anyone else had this problem?
Thanks for any help

Is your fuel return line connected? Sounds like it could be
vapor lock.

Good luck.

It does sound like vapor lock. Was the engine temp getting hot? It can be a lot of things, mostly small things. Keep all drives under 2 hours!

Could be a vacuum leak. With the choke on this morning the mixture would be richer and would compensate for the leak.

I'm making a guess, had my 75 do the same thing a long time ago. I woulld say trash in the fuel bowl is making the needle valve stick or the float is sticking. I use to tap the side of the carb bowl as a tempory fix. Before I had carb rebuilt, just my 2 cents. Thanks
