2 Carb clearance problems!

2 Carb clearance problems!

Hi

Just bought a new summit racing carb, the 750 cfm. but the carb doesnt clear the vacuum going to the brake booster?

If I insert a spacer the 2" air cleaner wont clear the hood? Any ideas?

didnt realize when purchasing that its nearly double the height of a regular carb.

Weiand air strike intake will solve the problem if we are talking small block. On the Weiand the vac fitting is located further out on the runner and you will not need a spacer.

Have you got a drop base for the air cleaner? Mine clears just fine with a spacer under the Holley.

When I bought my car, it had a 10" cleaner on it. Didn't like it so I got 14". Soo, yea you can get a drop base for 10" cleaners. For the price and headache I think a 14" is a better way to go.

Do you know where you can get a 10" drop base?.

Couldn't find one on the summit website. Only after buying a new Edelbrock air cleaner.

Use a low-pro vacuum port fitting #5183 from Mo's Speed street rod shop, then you need a 1/2" spacer, fitting comes with all the vacuum parts. And switch to a 14" air cleaner, alot less headaches...
