after 20 minutes of driving, it feels and sounds like the rear end is chattering .. mainly when I stop and begin to accelerate....does anyone have any ideas...I had the fluid changed and the posi-additive added last fall..but I think I'm borrowed time. Thanks in advance
Put another bottle of posi additive in and go find a big parking lot, slowly start doing figure 8's back and forth. Do this about 10-12 times. This will turn the posi clutches and work the additive into the clutches.
It worked on mine.

did yours start because of a particular reason or is doing figure 8's a process that needs to be done periodically?
I have been bothered by a grinding noise coming from the rear end of my 07 z51 a6 for a few months. I took my car to the dealer and they told me they thought it was the aftermarket exhaust I put on it. NO. Definitely not the right sound.
I put Royal Purple differential oil in the rear about 8 months ago and no noise till recently. It was making terrible grinding noises when turning sharps corners in parking lots and getting worse when turning in general. I talked to Corvettes Of Auburn today and they told me to try the Dexron LS Gear oil WITH the friction modifier already in it, 75-90W. I just put it in and went and did figure 8's in a parking lot like I was instructed. The noise is COMPLETELY GONE Would have never thought. I thought Royal Purple was the best. Apparently not. Its amazing how the sound travels through the whole car and makes it kind of hard to pinpoint. I originally thought the front wheel bearings were going out. I am a very Happy Vette owner!

True. Straight Gear Oil without adding a friction additive is the latest fix recommended by GM in their last TSB for this problem (followed by the figure 8's).

But he added gear oil WITH additive already in it.
