Got my 360# spring from VBP today. I will be putting the suspension back together, if weather permits, and it should be fun. Good looking piece. I hope I install this thing correctly.

Reason: Updated
I have a VB 360 with Bilsteins, sure firmed up the ride over my old OEM 7 leaf spring. I have 550 lb front springs as well and the ride it firm and a bit jiggly. I also added the Sharkbar (hoop version) for my vert. and it in combination of the 360 rear spring made for a much firmer ride but still comfortable.
I'm supposed to get my stuff tomorrow from VB&P. I ordered the 330lb rear mono spring and four bilstein sport shocks for my small block 72 coupe. Good luck with the install.
About the Bilsteins. VBP sells two versions. The version they package with the 360# monospring doesn't provide enough damping. At least this is the situation with the Bilsteins they sold me in the performance package that included the 360# spring. This was perhaps 5 years ago. The second version provides more damping and others have reported that this is the shock that is needed with the 360# spring. Maybe they're packaging this shock into their performance package now.
The Bilstein with the lesser damping characteristic causes the rear end of my 68 to be a bit bouncy. When I get around to it, I'm going to buy the higher damped Bilstein.
I have a VBP 380# spring (yes, they will make a custom weight if you ask). I use QA-1 adjustables in the rear......no guesswork, just adjust to your preference or needs. Very satisfied.
I'm back from installing the upper and lower control arms. I couldn't get the spindle on their because I had installed the lower control arms upside down, dumb me, and finally figured it out after a search. I'm going to post some pics in a couple of minutes.
I'm going to detail the engine bay at my friends shop, so I have to finish up the suspension. I also need to install a helicoil for one of the water pump bolts. I think I'm going to practice on an old head before doing this to my block.
Waiting for the ride results. I put the the #330 but thought it was too soft so I returned it and got the #360. Better. Haven't installed the the # 420 or the #460 front spring, can't remember the right number.
It's actually gonna be a while till it sees the street as I still have to do the rear suspension. I'm trying to finish it ASAP. I've never drive the car, not even when I bought it. When I bought the car, I parked it and tore it apart the first week. I'm dying to drive this car and will do my best to finish it ASAP.

Perhaps it would be better to just send your rear shocks to Bilstein for revalving. It was much less expensive back about five years ago when I was looking to upgrade the shocks on my '96.
I have a '69 now and hope to get the QA1s when I change the rear spring.
